In cooperation with Office of Higher Education Research Promotion, Udon Thani Rajabhat University hosts the 5th HERP congress on March 2-4.
Being presided over by Associate Professor Sophon Napathorn, deputy minister of Education, the summit is held under the slogan “ Thai Wisdom: Innovation To International Research”.
According to Dr. Wichai Boonsaeng, director of Office of Higher Education Research Promotion, National Research Universities (NRU), the congress has been annually conducted with the supports from both Office of the Higher Education Commission and the NRU office so that their development and progress could be continuously monitored and evaluated. Along the way, the management system has been improved to make sure that high-quality research can be achieved. For this year’s 5th Higher Education Research Promotion Congress being held at Udon Thani Rajabhat University, the researchers presented as many as 512 research topics.
A number of seminars are conducted in line with the Thailand 4.0 policy and they include “Higher Education in 4.0 era” and “Innovation Research of Siam Snail”. The congress is also the gathering of the university administrators who exchange their knowledge and visions to develop their respective education institutions in response to the Thailand 4.0 policy. It is also expected to encourage 70 universities to develop their research in order to meet the government’s demand. More attention is paid to the universities’ research evaluation and innovation. Its economy side is being considered if the research results can benefit the farmers. Weakness and strength in conducting research are also investigated.
